Keine Angst, die Synth erscheinen nicht sofort auf der Karte, der User muss dem vorher zustimmen in dem er in seinem Synth auf den „Map“ Button klickt und den Ort auf der Virtual Earth Karte markiert.

Wer Photosynth noch nicht kennt sollte es ausprobiere. Mit Photosynth kann jeder aus einer Fotoserie schicke 3D Bilder erstellen.

Improved upload success rate. This update should significantly reduce the number of synths failing with error code "0xA000000B". The problem happens when a file is currupted on it’s way to storage. We’ve added additional retry logic, and beefed up validation on both the client and server.

Smoother installation on Internet Explorer. Our installer now marks the ActiveX control as "pre-approved" so the IE Information Bar doesn’t get in the way when viewing your first synth.

Better "Recent" synths. The recent synths view of the explore page now only features synths with at least 10 photos.

Die ersten beiden Fehlerbehebungen betreffen den Photosynth Installer. Wer diesen bereits installiert hat wird keine Update Benachteiligung erhalten, kann aber das Upgrade hier runterladen wenn man die oben genannte Fehlermeldung erhält.

Es reicht übrigens die Bilder per Drag & Drop in die grüne Fläche zu schieben um einen Synth zu erstellen.

Test 1: Mein Wohnzimmer, Anzahl der Fotos 100

Wie es normal so üblich ist, habe ich einfach ein paar Fotos geschossen ohne mir vorher das Tutorial Video oder das PDF durchzulesen. Das Ergebnis war sehr ernüchternd, 21% synth Faktor und nicht gerade viele Bewegungsmöglichkeiten.

Fazit: gelöscht

Test 2: Heute, Mein Wohnzimmer, Anzahl Fotos 304

Diesmal lag der Synth Faktor bei 69% nicht schlecht. Positiv, die Buchrücken sind alle zu lesen.

Hier noch ein paar Beispiel:

Fazit: Auch mit 300 Fotos ist das Ergebnis noch nicht perfekt. Wer jetzt glaubt er fährt jetzt mal schnell nach Rom und macht dort ein paar Fotos und kann diese dann zuhause 3 Dimensional begehen, der irrt. Die Anzahl der Fotos die notwendig sind viele. Wichtig sind auch die Zoomfaktoren. So reicht ein Foto von nah und fern nicht aus. Nach dem mein erstes Experiment fehlgeschlagen ist, habe ich die Multi-Bilder Funktion aktiviert und so jede Sekunde ein Foto geschossen.

Ich glaube richtig interessant wird das ganze, wenn man von einer Position Panorama Fotos schießt und anschließend mit Professionellen Kameras die Objekte ran zieht und am Schluss dann absolute Nahaufnahmen. Bin gespannt was in der Photosynth Gallery alles noch erscheinen wird.

Die Fotos wurde übrigens nicht speziell für Photosynth gemacht und haben trotzdem eine 100% synth Grad. Da sieht man mal wieder wer ein guter Fotograf ist und wer nicht ….

Nachtrag: Ich habe mich nun an meiner Hellboy Figur versucht 73% leider ist die Pistole nicht mit dabei…

Systemvorraussetzungen

Memory: 256 MB of memory is a bare minimum; 1GB recommended.

Graphics: We have tested Photosynth on graphics cards that are “Vista Aero Ready”. This includes: support for DirectX 9 graphics with a WDDM driver, 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum), and 32 bits per pixel. If you want to find out whether your card is suitable, the Vista Upgrade Advisor tool will tell you. Photosynth may run on cards that do not meet this requirement, but performance may be poor and functionality may be impaired.
